The Coggins believe in the importance of family, friends, and an entrepreneurial spirit. So, it shouldn’t be any surprise that after decades of working and managing numerous fine-dining and upscale casual restaurants in Virginia-Highland, Matt decided to go into business for himself. And when he was ready to own his own restaurant, he brought his mother and former co-workers along for the ride.

That was July 2009, and here it is, five years later, and D.B.A. Barbecue has become the kind of friendly, neighborhood place where you can come have a beer and wings with friends while watching your favorite sport, or the whole family can enjoy a plate of Baby Back Ribs or Smoked Chicken with a side of mac-n -cheese after a long day of work and school.

There’s something for everyone here at D.B.A. Barbecue, or if you like, we can come to you. Place your order online via Zifty or contact our catering department for your next luncheon or event.

Wonder what D.B.A. means?  Doing Business As...Barbecue!

Giving Back to our Community

Few things make us happier than seeing the smile on a customer’s face when they take that first bite of our house-cured pastrami or dig into a mac-n-cheese topped, pulled pork sandwich (known as the Archie Bunker), but supporting the community that supports us is one of them.

Which is why we only pour draft beers from small Southern breweries. And why we have Buy a Rack, Save a Rack breast-cancer awareness events. We also support Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, the Steve Hightower Thriving Children Gala, PTAs, local schools, and afterschool programs. And we can’t forget Sean Costello, a local musician, whose name is painted on our wall of musicians. In his memory, we support the Sean Costello Fund for Bipolar Research.

From the causes that are important to us, our staff, and our customers, we take supporting our community seriously.
